Amazon cuts the price of Jaffa Cake Gin in the most important Prime Day sale

Amazon has announced the date of Prime Day as 21 and 22 June but deals have started already on the site.

The Amazon deals section has started to fill up with discounts on everything from sound bars to vacuum cleaners but the best deal may be in the food and drink section.

Anybody who loves the humble Jaffa Cake will be excited to see a 24% discount on Jaffa Cake Gin, which is now priced at £21, down from £27.85. The 700ml bottle is distilled with oranges, orange peel, cocoa powder and actual, real-life Jaffa Cakes to give it the same flavour as the chocolate snack.

The drinking instructions say the gin can be sipped with lemonade or in a Negroni cocktail, garnished with a Jaffa Cake itself.

The early Amazon Prime Day sale includes a number of discounts on big brand alcohol, including 15% off a bottle of Baileys Irish Cream Liquor and £10 off bottles of Jack Daniel's Fire Blended Whisky, which is now just £22.

Limited Edition Jack Daniel Gentleman Jack is down from £50 to £37.50, while Pistonhead and Goose Island beer are also heavily discounted.

Amazon plans to launch more 'lightning deals' in the weeks running up to Prime Day itself, where sales are expected to include Amazon's own technology such as the Echo, Echo Dot, Fire TV and Ring doorbells. Other discounts are likely to cover vacuum cleaners, TVs, fashion, toys and Amazon Kindle Unlimited, Music and Video.
