Amazon beats popular UK brands to be named LinkedIn's best place to work

Global giant Amazon has beaten the likes of Sainsbury's and Barclays bank to be crowed Britain's best employer in a new report.

In LinkedIn's latest "Top Companies" poll, workers named the online retailer as their favourite place to work - followed by JP Morgan.

In producing the list, the networking platform analysed firms against four pillars, including how much interest a business has, its engagement levels with staff, job seeker reach and employee retention.

It said many of the firms featured in top 10 have weathered many headwinds and lasted over a century in business, including BP and Goldman Sachs.

Here are LinkedIn's top 10 businesses to work for in the U.K..
