Amazon Alexa trick lets you access 'Super Alexa Mode' - here's how

From Siri to Alexa, smart assistants are now a staple feature of many people’s daily lives.

But if you use Amazon Alexa, you may not be aware of a sneaky trick that lets you access ‘Super Alexa Mode’.

Super Alexa Mode is a joke based on a video game cheat code created by game developer Konami.

The code also appears in many popular video games, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Contra series.

To activate Super Alexa Mode, simply say: “Alexa, up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start."

Alexa should reply: "Super Alexa mode, activated. Starting reactors, online. Enabling advanced systems, online.

"Raising dongers. Error. Dongers missing. Aborting.”

The command refers to the buttons you press on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) controller to activate the Konami code in certain video games.

Unfortunately, Alexa's response doesn't actually endow the smart assistant with any new capabilities, and is just a trick to make gamers think they've discovered something special.

Aside from Super Alexa Mode, there are several fun tricks you can try with Amazon’s smart assistant.

Amazon Alexa tricks

1. Alexa, use the force.

Alexa's response: Can I borrow a lightsaber?

2. Alexa, I'll be back.

Alexa's response: Hasta la vista, baby.

3. Alexa, who let the dogs out?

Alexa's response: Who, who, who, who?

4. Alexa, I like big butts.

Alexa's response: You cannot lie. Good. Honesty is important.
