Many of us have an Amazon Alexa in our homes - but most people don't know that the smart speaker has a hidden function that could help save a life.
The Alexa is a useful household device for when you want to listen to music, ask a random question or check the weather outside.
But in addition to keeping us entertained and informed, the Alexa could also prove life saving thanks to one little known function.

Alexa can also be used if someone is suffering from a cardiac arrest at home.
The device can offer vital life saving advice on how to respond to a medical emergency, taking you through each step.
An Instagram post shared by @alylaz_ read: "Cardiac arrest in the home.....
"Did you know if you have an "Alexa" in the home she can be of more use than you may realise in a crisis.
"Initially as it's an Alexa skill you'll need to activate it on your Alexa [by saying] 'Alexa activate emergency cpr'.
"In the event of someone in the home of where an "Alexa" is present having a sudden cardiac arrest and you're unsure about what to do SHOUT "Alexa EMERGENCY CPR."
"Alexa will assist you by telling you what to do. Including CPR instructions.
"Share and raise awareness.
"THIS COULD SAVE A LIFE."
