Dancing Percy, 102, goes viral in Glasgow lockdown video

Having a boogie in the the face of adversity has always been something Glaswegians do best - and one 102-year-old is showing the young ones how it is done!

Percy, who lives at Renaissance Care’s Whitecraigs Care Home, has put a smile on everyone’s faces by dancing around to The Outhere Brother's track Don't Stop.

The video, starring resident Percy and two care staff, has being doing the rounds on social media.

Communications manager at Renaissance Care Kirsteen Feenan said Whitecraigs Care Home staff were excelling at keeping everyone’s spirits high in the face of coronavirus.

"They are doing an excellent job. We've all got to keep dancing!"

This isn't the first time daredevil Percy has captured our hearts here at Glasgow Live.

The former police officer proved he was a true romantic when he revealed to us how he swept his wife off her feet when they met in Glasgow.

"My wife Mary was from Stornoway. We met in St Enoch Square after I had asked her for directions for the bus," he told us. "After she had told me the directions, Mary asked me when would I be taking her out again."

The pair fell in love, got married and had eleven children together.

Today, the grandfather-of twenty, spends most of his time with his best pal Laura, a nurse at the carehome.

"She makes me laugh a lot," he said. "I still have a good sense of humour. At Halloween, I dressed up as a chimney sweep and Laura dressed up as Mary Poppins, we make quite a double act us two."

From dressing up to getting down - Percy shows you’re never too old to bust a move. What a Don.
