Amazing Thai Taste Festival on June 8-10

From left, Vorrapong Sukteera-anantachai, the property director of Chulalongkorn University, Sujitra Jongchansitto, deputy governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Nutthapol Pavapaiboon, master chef of the Amazing Thai Taste Festival, join a press conference on the festival at the TAT in Bangkok last Friday.

At least 134 restaurants and famous street food vendors will take part in the Amazing Thai Taste Festival in Bangkok late this week, the Tourism Authority of Thailand announced.

The theme of the event is "Eat Thai Food, Feeling Good".

Main attractions include three street food vendors who have been recommended by the prestigious Michelin Guide, a unique fruit buffet, and a world-first unveiling of the Khao Tom Mad Tu-rian Lava.

Khao Tom Mad is a Thai dessert of steamed sticky rice with banana wrapped in banana leaf, though for this event the filling will be the popular seasonal fruit durian - hailed as the king of fruits.

There is also the opportunity to taste the esteemed Jasmine rice from Ubon Ratchathani province, which can fetch up to 300,000 baht per tonne.

The Amazing Thai Taste Festival is set for June 8-10 at Siam Square, Bangkok.
