Amazing pictures of Everton's players as they enjoy white water rafting

Everton's players appeared as we've never seen them before as they went white water rafting during their training camp in the Swiss Alps.

The Blues squad are now back in the UK preparing for Wednesday night's trip to Wigan Athletic after a 0-0 draw with Sion and 1-0 win over Monaco during their time based in the village of Verbier.

But as well as working on their fitness ahead of the 2019/20 season by operating at altitude close to Mont Blanc, Lake Geneva and both the French and Italian borders, Marco Silva's side took time out from their football drills to embark on some rather different team-bonding activities.

While the club's insurers might endured a few wobbly moments at the sight of millions of pounds worth of football talent, splashing their way through a white-knuckle ride, Everton's players, who all wore buoyancy lifejackets for safety, appeared all-smiles as they emerged from the river after completing their journey through the stunning alpine mountain scenery .

Everton's players followed a similar programme of activities to PSV Eindhoven's squad who also went rafting when they trained and played in the region under current Blues director of football Marcel Brands in 2017 and 2018 and returned for a third successive summer earlier this month.

Let's just hope that Everton are riding along on the crest of a wave in the Premier League over the coming months.
