Amazing photos show deserted streets of Nottingham, Arnold, Mapperley and The Meadows on Christmas Day

Ever wondered what Nottingham looks like with no-one in it?

There are not many chances to see this rare sight, but luckily for you our photographer took to the streets on Christmas Day to capture the festive moment.

Everywhere from Old Market Square to Maid Marian Way were totally deserted as people spent time unwrapping their presents and seeing family and friends.

We also had a look at the streets in Arnold, The Meadows and Mapperley Top.

But if you like what you see, you'll have to make the most of it with these photos - because moments like these only come around once a year.

And we're pretty sure the city is going to be jam-packed again by Boxing Day as shoppers hit the streets for sales bargain.
