There's a gorgeous new Italian restaurant on Lime Street serving pizzas so good, you just might forget you're in Liverpool.
Neapolitan on Lime Street opened late in 2021 and has quickly amassed a decent reputation among food connoisseurs, novices and pizza lovers alike.
The restaurant blends into the quickly changing city centre street which has been in the process of big change for a number of years, with redevelopment battles rife - though Neapolitan is already making its mark.

Reviews of the pizza venue describe it as an "excellent" and "amazing place" with "incredible food and drinks" and "wonderful" service. I was keen to try it out for myself.
I visited one Sunday evening and upon first entering, it was so quiet I was worried it wouldn't live up to the high praise it has received but I was quickly proved wrong.
Within half an hour, the tables were full and the plush, inky blue booths were packed with people celebrating birthdays, catch ups and more. There was an effortlessly relaxed and joyous atmosphere, creating the illusion of being far away from the busy, hectic city we all know and love so much.
The venue's dough is left to ferment for a minimum of 24 hours and customers can watch their pizza being cooked in its open wood fired oven.
I ordered the Funghi Portobello Mushroom pizza (£9.50) which comes with san marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, portobello mushrooms, chestnut mushrooms and porcini mushrooms.
In addition, my friends and I tucked into some cheesy fries (£3.50) and some parmesan and truffle fries (£4.45).
In my opinion, nobody does food quite like the Italians and Neapolitan's pizzas tasted authentically Italian and completely delicious.
The pizza base was a light and tasty, hand-stretched and wood fired affair, while the tomato sauce was rich and delightfully tangy. There was a generous helping of cheese and the mushrooms were cooked to perfection - without any of the dreaded sliminess sometimes associated with them.
The chips were well seasoned and fluffy, with a portion so large, it was able to satisfy my unhealthy obsession with the carby treat.
I didn't want to finish my pizza because it was so incredible, I wasn't ready for it to be over.
If you don't fancy pizza, Neapolitan also serves a selection of pasta dishes.
Neapolitan serves gorgeous, authentic tasting pizzas that made me feel as though I'd been transported to Italy. It's a beautiful spot to cosy up with great friends, decent drinks and excellent food.
I will definitely be back.
Neapolitan can be found at 57-61 Lime Street, Liverpool L1 1JQ.
