Amazing Musselburgh house where you can sit and watch seals from the living room is up for sale

An award-winning property in Musselburgh which was once in the running to be named "house of the year" has gone on the market.

Edinburgh Road is a three bedroom coastal home which offers up incredible sea views thanks to a six-metre-long cinematic window.

It is built into the existing sea wall and you can even watch wildlife such as seals, diving gannets and oystercatchers from the comfort of the living room area.

In 2017 the home was longlisted for riba's House of the Year.

And now it can be yours – if you have a spare £660,000.

The property measures more than 2000 square feet and is entered using a south-facing courtyard, which houses a garage and greenhouse.

Look inside the bargain flat near Edinburgh's city centre which costs little over £100,000

Inside you have the primary living area, which is open-plan and linked to the kitchen. From the cinematic window you can see as far as North Berwick Law and over to the coast of Fife.

There are also three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, a utility room and a study.

The Modern House, who are agents for the property, wrote: "Longlisted for riba's House of the Year in 2017, Edinburgh Road is a multi-award winning home, occupying an outstanding coastal location on the western edge of Musselburgh, six miles from Edinburgh's city centre.

"A six-metre-long cinematic window frames breath-taking views and opens the front of the house to encapsulate the mesmerising sounds of the sea.

"The house blends harmoniously with its location, built directly into the rugged stone of the existing sea wall, with a beautiful larch-clad exterior."
