Amazing moment Liverpool fans belt out Bobby Firmino song in Madrid square

Watch the amazing moment Liverpool fans took over Felipe II Square in Madrid, sending plumes of red pyro into the sky.

Thousands of Reds' supporters gathered in the official Fan Zone in the Spanish Capital as they sang out Allez, Allez, Allez ahead of tonight's Champions League final clash against Tottenham.

It wasn't even midday, and over eight hours until the game, but the streets of Madrid were turned into a sea of red as fans threw footballs in the air and waved scarves high above the crowd.

In the footage above, you can hear fans belt out the Bobby Firmino song amidst a sea of ketwigs, red scarves and banners.

With excitement in the air people could be seen jumping around as the MC tells army of fans to 'go mad'.

Pictures show the scale of support in the city for the Reds as people stretch out along the streets.

Former LFC player John Barnes took to the Salvador Dali Square stage, delighting fans with his story of how he made it to Madrid.

The 55-year-old had told ECHO reporter Ellen Kirwin the same story just moments before, he said: I was with my family in Santorini, I had to be here at 8:30am on Thursday morning.

"My flight from Santorini got cancelled, so I then had to fly from Santorini to Athens, from Athens to Barcelona.

"Got to Barcelona 2am in the morning, my train, I had to get a train to Madrid, it was not until 5am, the train station is not open till 4am, from 2am until 4am I was lying on the floor outside the train station with a lot of homeless people before the train station opened.

"That's how committed I was to getting here."

He then made a jibe at former player Ian Rush, he said: "I am not going to mention any names, about other divas who played for Liverpool, my former teammates who would have wanted to be in a five star hotel.

"I slept on the floor of the train station for three hours, that is how much of a fan I am. I am not going to say who wouldn't have done it... Ian Rush... But apart from that, that is my commitment to the cause."

The Fan Zone will be open through out the day, offering a safe place for Liverpool supporters to prepare for the match with activities, food, drink and live music.

It will close at 6pm as fans make their way to the Wanda Metropolitano stadium for 9pm kick-off (UK time 8pm).
