'Amazing' - high-profile support for Nottingham Forest's City Ground plans

Proposals to redevelopment Nottingham Forest’s City Ground are ‘amazing’ according to one of the Reds’ most high profile fans.

England cricketer Stuart Broad, currently out in New Zealand preparing for the first Test match in Mount Maunganui, believes the grand plans to build a new Peter Taylor Stand as part of a wider regeneration project are worthy of the Premier League – a level the Reds haven’t starred at in two-decades.

Forest’s City Ground stadium was last redeveloped in 1994 when the new Trent End was built in time for the Reds to host games at Euro 96.

“Looks amazing, would suit the Premier League,” Forest supporter Broad wrote on Twitter, taking time out from his preparations for Day One at the Bay Oval.

The £100m project will see capacity increased from around 30,000 to 38,000 once the whole project has been completed, with improvements being made to other stands around the City Ground which will see a new club shop, museum, corporate and media facilities included.

It’s hoped that work will begin early next year with seats available in the new Peter Taylor Stand by the end of 2020, and the club are keen on fans having their say on the grand plans.
