Amazing hidden street art you might not have seen in the North East

Street art has divided opinions for decades and will no doubt continue to do so.

For some, it's seen as an outlet for artistic expression and an opportunity to add vibrant colour to otherwise dull and grey areas.

Others however view graffiti as an anti-social eyesore or selfish acts of vandalism to people's property.

Some feature quotes intended to stir a reaction, while others pay tribute to iconic figures from across the globe.

Our photographer has been out and about in Newcastle and Gateshead capturing a range of street art you might not have seen.

From designs on the walls of Heaton and Shieldfield to portraits in archways in Gateshead, here's a look at some of the region's street art you might have missed.
