'Amazing!' - Arsenal fans loved what Mohamed Elneny did in the 91st minute against Man United

Arsenal fans have been reacting to Mohamed Elneny's performance in the 1-0 win over Manchester United.

The midfielder was somewhat of a surprise inclusion in the Gunners' starting XI alongside Thomas Partey as he got the nod ahead of Granit Xhaka and Dani Ceballos.

It was very much a bold decision by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and one that he was pleased paid off as Elneny was excellent at Old Trafford.

"Well obviously I played with him and with Mo we know his qualities as a person and what he brings to the squad," Arteta said in his post-match press conference.

"I like players that have zero ego that play for the team and want to contribute whether it's one minute or 96 minutes, or just by being there and contributing to our culture.

"Mo is a person who is admired amongst everyone at the football club and I think now is respected as a footballer, something that I always believed he had to be."

And there was one moment that summed up Elneny's contribution against Man United.

As spotted by fans on Reddit, in the 91st minute the midfielder was effectively a one-man pressing machine as he forced Luke Shaw to play the ball backwards.

That moment was certainly by a number of Arsenal fans.

Truewarriorxd said: "The way Elneny has turned his arsenal career around is absolutely amazing."

ISaidSarcastically said: "Tbh he was always quality, just not given a shot. Add the fact that he is a fantastic personality off the pitch and a great tm8 and I think he deserves all the love he is getting."

AhmeZa said : "I remember this part distinctly. I was so impressed how he read Shaw's movements and threw him off by blocking his options. He was really really good. I missed the first 60 mins because I was asleep but damn I’m impressed."

Arteta also had his say on Elneny's pressing in the 91st minute.

"Absolutely. What Mo transmits to the team especially." Arteta added.

"He has this energy as a person, he creates that atmosphere. I thought we needed that energy and positive feeling today. I thought he was tremendous."
