Amari Cooper torches Redskins; ‘Easiest touchdown I’ve ever had’

Not only is the Washington Redskins secondary getting torched on the field in embarrassing ways, but now they’re getting flamed online for the lack of discipline over the top as well.

Just days after the Dallas Cowboys put up 31 points in Washington, making the secondary look lost at times, Cowboys WR Amari Cooper has gone on record as saying the touchdown he scored in FedEx Field was the easiest of his career.

“Boy, that was the easiest touchdown I’ve ever had,” Cooper said, via NBC Sports Washington. “I had space. [Defender] wasn’t over there.”

Of course, you could argue that Cooper is being a bit hyperbolic, especially when you consider the catch-and-run by Devin Smith earlier in the game, burning Josh Norman for a post over the middle.

Of course, this argument may prove Cooper wrong, but it won’t make Redskins fans feel any better. The secondary has struggled so far this season, with cornerbacks Quinton Dunbar and Fabian Moreau dealing with injuries. As they near full-strength, they should start to improve. But until then, they might be the butt of a few more jokes.
