Amanda Serrano says Katie Taylor fight in May has been postponed

Katie Taylor's May 2 super-fight with Amanda Serrano has been postponed due to the coronavirus crisis, according to Serrano.

The Bray boxer was scheduled to put her lightweight titles on the line against the seven-weight world champion, but that now looks set to be put on hold.

The Manchester fight night, set to be headlined by Dillian Whyte’s heavyweight clash with Alexander Povetkin, has not officially been cancelled, but Serrano took to Twitter to tell fans that it's off.

In a tweet, the Puerto Rican said: "To all my fans that keep asking me: YES! my May 2nd fight has been postponed, a new date to be announced soon.

"It has Nothing to do w with myself or my opponent Everyone knows the critical crisis we are in. This Covid-19 is serious, please be safe out there. God bless us all."

The mega-fight has been years in the making, and it's likely that official confirmation on a new date for the bout will come next week.
