Amanda Owen shares 'important announcement' as Our Yorkshire Farm returns to Channel 5

Amanda Owen has shared her excitement at the return of hit TV show Our Yorkshire Farm.

The 47-year-old shepherdess took to Twitter on Tuesday to retweet a post from Channel 5 teasing the new series.

Amanda captioned the post: "I have SOOOOOOO much catching up to do.

"It’s all been happening but firstly and most importantly I must announce that there’s a new series of Our Yorkshire Farm starting next week on @channel5_tv #yorkshire #OurYorkshireFarm #channel5."

Fans were delighted at the news and were quick to reply to Amanda's retweet.

"Yes I am certainly looking forward to that Amanda, I hope it starts with the episode we didn't get to see of series 4, hoping you, Clive and the family are all fit and well," one person posted.

Another wrote: "Fabulous so looking forward to seeing all of you and how you are coping with COVID #AmandaOwen8 #OurYorkshireFarm."

Someone else added: "Best news of the week. Just what we all need to focus on and lift our spirits."

The 30-second teaser trailer begins with a voiceover saying: ""With a new year comes new adventures, new beginnings and new surprises."

Amanda is then heard saying: "It's homeschooling all the way," referring to lockdown and the fact that her children were all at home.

The mum-of-nine juggles motherhood with her 2000 acre farm home Ravenseat, which comes complete with a flock of over 1,000 sheep.

The new series comes just weeks after the daughter of Amanda's husband Clive claimed she has been cut off from her family.

Rosie has spoken out about her famous family, saying her bond with her dad and stepmother Amanda is beyond repair.

The Channel 5 show follows the idyllic family life of Clive, Amanda and their nine children as they work on their farm.

But Rosie, 34, who is one of Clive's two children from his first marriage, spoke out about her soured relationship with her father.

She said the relationship is so bad that she can't even bare driving past their farm in the Yorkshire Dales.

Rosie told The Sun : "Millions tune in to see this idyllic farm on the TV but they don’t know the heartache behind it.

"It feels like my childhood disappeared. My childhood home has been completely taken away from me."

She also said she won't be watching the show when it returns for a new series as she's tried to tune in in the past but has switched off after five minutes after finding herself in tears.

Rosie, who has two daughters, aged 16 and six, and a 13-year-old son, says her kids don't have a bond with Clive and that she feels she missed out on having a consistent male role model while she was growing up.

Our Yorkshire Farms returns on Tuesday 5 October at 9pm on Channel 5.
