Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen says husband Clive 'has changed' since TV fame

Amanda Owen has seen her life as a Yorkshire shepherdess prove to be one of the breakout TV shows of the year, with Channel 5 series Our Yorkshire Farm gaining popularity.

The 46-year-old has impressed fans on social media with her svelte figure as she puts aside the traditional look of a farmer for a more unconventional style.

This has led to her being in big demand and ITV's This Morning have brought her in for some cookery segments.

It was during one of these pieces that the mum-of-nine revealed that her husband Clive, 66, has changed since the start of their real-life documentary series.

For This Morning, Amanda was sent out to source local ingredients so that she could create family favourites in the kitchen.

One such dish was a popular dish in her household - rhubarb bread and butter pudding.

As she looked for the ingredients, she told viewers that Clive has "gone all posh" since cameras starting rolling at their farm.

She said: "Last week, my and Violet baked bread and we purposely let some go stale because we’re going to be cooking rhubarb bread and butter pudding."

As Amanda chopped the rhubarb before adding sugar and water into a pan, she told viewers: "I want it to cook very quickly so it keeps it colour and keeps it shape."

Moving on to the next step, she continued: "That’s the rhubarb poached, next is to make the Creme Anglaise.

“This, of course, used to be called custard but because Clive’s gone all posh, it’s now Creme Anglaise."

Amanda mixed the ingredients before continuing: “I don’t want that to come to the boil, I just want it to gently warm.”

Next was the addition of vanilla pop and then leaving it to simmer.

She continued: “Right, now it’s a critical, crucial time; we’re going to add the cream, milk and vanilla, to the eggs and sugar.

“Now you have to do this quite carefully because you don’t want it to curdle. Keep whisking.”

Amanda assembled the pudding by placing a layer of buttered bread, before adding rhubarb and repeating until the dish was full.

The shepherdess said: “When my grandma used to make this, she used to have a big iron and put it on the top to squash it right down."

Next orange zest was added to the custard and poured over the bread and rhubarb in the dish.

Amanda remarked: “I can’t sugar coat the fact this is not a health food.

“And this now has to be left alone to give the bread time to absorb the custard.”

She then let the pudding absorb the juices before popping it in to the oven.

When ready, Amanda said: "The final touch, clotted cream - that is delicious!”

Or as Clive might say now that he is 'posh': "Absolutely divine darling."
