Amanda Knox bonds with penis-chopper Lorena Bobbitt at true crime festival

Amanda Knox was pictured cosying up to a woman notorious for chopping her husband’s penis off.

The 32-year-old, who was found guilty and then cleared of British student Meredith Kercher’s murder in Italy, met Lorena Bobbitt at a true crime festival.

The pair bonded at the event in Washington DC and Knox – known as Foxy Knoxy – said it was “an honour to have shared this stage with another longtime member of the shamed women club”.

Bobbitt, 49, cut husband John Wayne’s penis off while he slept in 1993, claiming he had raped her. She was acquitted on temporary insanity and sent to a mental hospital – but discharged a month later.

Knox posted a snap with her and told of how good it was to be “reclaiming our narratives together”. She also slammed how the Bobbitt worm, an ambush predator that uses sharp mandibles to snap its prey in half, was named after her.

She said: “One of the most shocking ways Lorena has been shamed is through the naming of this horrifying sea worm. This isn’t clever, it’s mean.”

But a social media user said: “They’ve both earned the right to be ‘shamed’ and need to be called out for playing the victim. The real victims in both cases were those at the sharp end of the knife.”

Another said: “Bobbitt should’ve been charged with attempted murder.

“I find Knox more disgusting as she continues to promote herself as the victim, cashing in when she can.”

The two women were headliners at Death Becomes Us, speaking about their cases. Knox spent four years in an Italian prison before she was acquitted in 2015.
