Amanda Kloots has opened up about preparing to spend her first Thanksgiving since the death of her husband Nick Cordero.
Cordero died aged 41 of Covid-19 in July this year. The Tony-nominated Bullets Over Broadway actor spent three months in treatment, spending weeks in an induced coma and having his right leg amputated due to blood clotting.
Kloots, who has shared regular updates about her family since Cordero became diagnosed with coronavirus, recently posted a photo of her and Cordero’s one-year-old son Elvis.
“I read a passage today that said to find the little things everyday that God gives you. Collect them, one by one, and by the end of the day you’ll see you have a beautiful bouquet!” she wrote along with the image.
“It would be very easy to go into this Thanksgiving week counting my losses but I’m choosing to count my blessings. This guy is at the top of my list.”
Kloots has also recently shared a photo of herself and Cordero at the time they had just started dating.
“Missing him today,” she wrote. “I’ve noticed how my ‘firsts’ hit me a couple days or the day before the actual day. So today has been a bit emotional.”
Kloots, a fitness instructor and author, has written a book about her personal experiences. Live Your Life: My Story of Loving and Losing Nick Cordero is scheduled for release in June 2021.
