Amanda Holden wants to form British version of ABBA with Olly Murs and Rylan

I’m not sure whether or not this is a trick or treat… but Amanda Holden wants to form a modern-day British version of ABBA.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 49, has plans for a supergroup like the Swedish chart sensations made up of herself, Olly Murs, Rylan Clark-Neal and Sheridan Smith.

Olly, 36, and Rylan, 31, are on board and Sheridan, who duets on Amanda’s debut album, is a shoo-in.

Talking to Rylan about the project, Amanda says: “Maybe I’ll get you on the next album.

"You and Olly Murs I’ve lined up now, it’s a winner.

"And maybe I’ll just get Sheridan, the four of us, and maybe we can be the next Abba.”

Enthusiastic Rylan confirmed on his Radio 2 show that he is on board, saying: “I’ll take it seriously.”

ABBA are one of the most commercially successful acts ever, with almost 400 million record sales.

Olly has sold 10 million, Amanda is the UK’s biggest debut female chart star of 2020 with her album Songs From My Heart and BAFTA-winner Sheridan, 39, impressed on the duet I Know Him So Well.

Rylan ducked music to follow his presenting career instead, including the new Supermarket Sweep.

Amanda once said she wants ABBA’s Dancing Queen played at her funeral.

Let’s hope this supergroup isn’t career suicide, then…
