Amanda Holden unveils video for Over The Rainbow with cameo from Captain Tom Moore

Amanda Holden has revealed the new video for her first single Over The Rainbow.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 49, released a cover of the classic track last week to help raise money for the NHS.

The accompanying video was filmed before the Covid-19 crisis and features black and white footage of Holden performing in a theatre and recording the track in the studio,

This is interspersed with new clips showing children holding rainbow drawings in support of the health service and other key workers, as well as families - including Holden, her husband Chris Hughes and two daughters Lexi and Hollie - taking part in the weekly Clap For Our Carers initiative.

Footage from Holden’s Heart Radio interview with Captain Tom Moore, who raised around £33 million for NHS Charities Together by walking 100 lengths of his garden, also appears in the video.

Her Britain’s Got Talent co-star Alesha Dixon’s daughter Azura, six, also makes a cameo, appearing with a rainbow light shining across her face.

Speaking to mark the release of the single last week, Holden said that she owes the health service “so much” after NHS staff “saved [her] life” following the birth of her second daughter, Hollie.

“This campaign and the NHS mean a lot to me because as I’m sure you’ve read over the years they’ve saved my life,” she added.

“They’ve saved my sister’s life after she was in a car accident. And of course our son Theo was born sleeping at an NHS hospital where all the staff were utterly extraordinary and treated us with so much empathy and love.

“So I feel like I owe them so much. I feel like we all owe them a debt now and of course for the future to come.”
