Amanda Holden tears up on air as listener says her life has changed by £10k win

Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston were left fighting off the tears on Thursday morning’s Heart Breakfast show.

As they do every weekday morning, the presenters dished out £10,000 to lucky callers who were quick enough to text the show after hearing the winning artist.

After hearing Jennifer Lopez’s tunes on her way to drop her son Oscar to school, lucky listener Vicky bagged herself a slot on the radio to share her answer with Amanda and Jamie.

The proud mum-to-four was overwhelmed as she explained how much the massive win meant to her and her family.

Vicky explained that bagging the cash prize was a ‘life-changing’ win, as she and her husband had been ‘desperately’ saving up to move into a bigger house to suit their family.

The stunned listener, who shares a 12-year-old, seven-year-old twins and a ten-month-old baby with her husband explained that she had been struggling in a two-bed house after her family began to grow.

Upon hearing the words ‘You’ve just won £10,000 and it will go into your bank account today’, the shocked mum burst into tears, as did her son Oscar who was on the way to school.

Soon after, Amanda admitted that she had tears in her eyes and a lump in her throat after realising how much of a difference the epic win will have on Vicky’s entire family.

The moment was made even more special when proud mum Vicky insisted that she was turning the car around and heading home to share the happy news with her husband – meaning that Oscar got the day off school amid the madness.

“Don’t drive until you have taken a few deep breaths and taken in how much your life is set to change after this,” Jamie encouraged before the emotional call ended.
