Amanda Holden says daughter Lexi isn't a 'nepo baby' for modelling contract

Amanda Holden has defended her daughter Lexi, saying she is not a “nepo baby”.

The presenter, 54, has said it isn’t due to her fame that her daughter, 19, has a modelling contract with Storm Management.

Storm is a successful modelling agency, which has represented models like Kate Moss, Alexa Chung and Jourdan Dunn.

“Yes, she’s related to me, but that’s nothing to do with me,” she told the Radio Times.

“The word ‘nepo’ can be thrown around forever, but it’s unfair it’s been used in showbiz.

“When I was young, I got a job in a fruit and veg shop as my mum knew the guy.

“If you know someone can help your child get in somewhere, you’ll do whatever.”

The Britain’s Got Talent judge has two children with her husband Chris Hughes, Lexi, 19, and Hollie, 13.

Amanda added how proud she is of her kids, saying the money will help Lexi, who is currently at university, prepare financially.

“They have to have talent and backbone, and work to succeed,” she continued.

“I’m proud of my daughter, doing stuff for Storm as well as two normal jobs while at uni.

“She’s not going to come out with a debt — that’s amazing.”

Amanda Holden gave details on the next series of her show with Alan Carr (Getty Images)

Amanda Holden and Alan Carr have been filming series four of their hit BBC travel renovation show - but Amanda recently told the Standard she already has big plans for series five.

So far they have put their stamp on Italy, Spain and series four will be in Greece, but there is one location Amanda says they would both “kill” to take the cameras to.

Speaking to the Standard, she said: “I would imagine maybe France or Turkey, the scheme even works in Japan - we would both kill to go to Japan but I keep saying to him maybe we just pitch a travel show next and be done with it.

“We’ll be the next Judith Chalmers or maybe we’ll join Gary Barlow on a travelogue, just the two of us, we’ll bring back Wish You Were Here.”

Speaking about the series four location and rumours of a Christmas special, she added: “Greece is like a dream come true for us because Alan came on holiday with me, Chris and the girls last year and fell in love with Corfu.

“He also shot Mama Mia there which was the ABBA show with the lovely Zoe Ball.

“We were like god, if we can find a house here wouldn’t that be a dream come true. So that’s happened and we’ve already made a Christmas special for this year.”
