Amanda Holden's subtle Holly Willoughby dig after tearful This Morning return

Amanda Holden has taken a subtle swipe at Holly Willoughby as the drama around This Morning continues.

ITV's flagship daytime show has been rocked with controversy since Phillip Schofield quit ITV after he admitted having an affair with a younger male colleague. Holly made her first return to the show without her former co-host yesterday.

She held back tears to deliver a monologue at the start of the episode as she said: "Right, deep breath. Firstly, are you OK? I hope so. It feels very strange indeed sitting here without Phil. I imagine that you might have been feeling a lot like I have."

Amanda has taken to Instagram today and issued a dig at Holly as she used her same words for her address to fans before hosting her Heart Radio show. She adopted a sombre tone as she said: "Hello. It is Tuesday. Are you ok? Today' I'm wearing this gorgeous white jumpsuit."

It is not the first time the Britain's Got Talent judge has waded into the controversy surrounding This Morning. The Britain's Got Talent judge took to Instagram in the immediate aftermath of Mr Schofield's exit from This Morning. Amanda shared a cryptic post of a flexed bicep emoji with her 2m followers.

Fans took to the comments and claimed this was a reference to the exit. Roisin commented: "Suspect it’s a dig at Philip Schofield"

Karen added: "Get Amanda back to host." It has been reported that Mr Schofield has previously fell out with Amanda as he allegedly never wanted her to star on This Morning alongside him. Amanda addressed the "feud" on Heart Radio and told listeners she once reached out to the 61-year-old broadcaster but he never responded.
