Amanda Holden's small gesture to comfort Kate Garraway during Derek Draper's health battle

Kate Garraway has had an extremely tough time of late as her husband Derek Draper, 52, was hospitalised in March after contracting coronavirus.

He was later put into an induced coma which lasted 13 weeks - which he woke up from last week but he is still on a long road to recovery.

And Good Morning Britain host Kate, 53 - who shares two children Billy and Darcey with Derek - has revealed how fellow celebrity Amanda Holden managed to lift her spirits with a kind gesture during one of her low moments.

Kate has told that Britian's Got Talent's Amanda made her smile by sending her a touching text message.

"Amanda Holden, she texted me on Sunday, I felt so low," she shared to Hello! Magazine.

"I read a text and I couldn't even text back, I'm sorry Amanda, she texted just saying, 'I'm thinking of you, you're doing amazing', just reading that is incredible."

Kate also touched on how Judge Rinder has been a helping hand during the past weeks.

She explained: "Robert Rinder, he just texted me and said, 'I live really near to you, what can I do?' Darcey was making a photo wall and we didn't have any Blu Tack.. and he was like, 'Ok…."

The Im' A Celeb star continued: "We now have a system, I'll say to him [that we need] butter and milk and he'll send back a rainbow and it's on its way."

This Week On-air Kate also confirmed the positive news that she would be back presenting on GMB on Monday.

Making her announcement, during an appearance on the morning show, an emotional Kate said: "I'm gonna come back. I'm afraid.

"I'm back on Monday if you'll have me.

"I haven't got the fight to be with Piers Morgan," she joked. But I'm back with Ben Shepherd."

Kate admitted doctors have been concerned about her after she put her life on hold to research as much as she could about Derek's condition.

"I've got to get going. I've got to get back," she explained. "Everyone else is doing it and I'm no diferent.

"Derek would not just be saying, ‘Come back’, he’d be saying, ‘Why haven’t you done it before?’”
