Amanda Holden returns to work on a scooter after breaking her leg on holiday

Amanda Holden sported an unusual accessory at Heart Radio on Monday morning, gliding through the office on a scooter-like contraption.

The breakfast show presenter, 48, has been forced to get around using the bizarre vehicle after breaking her leg while on holiday last week.

Poking fun at her predicament, Holden shared a video of herself travelling across the station’s office while Chamillionaire’s track Ridin’ was playing.

Heart Radio then shared a snap of Holden being pushed around by her co-host Jamie Theakston.

The Britain's Got Talent judge was left needing surgery after breaking her leg in two places while on holiday during half term week.

The star had been attempting to complete a Total Wipeout-style assault course in the sea when she slid over.

Speaking during Monday's breakfast show, she said: "I’m very impatient and I hate sitting still.

"But the cast, there’s a cast that they moulded to just under my leg, so I can kind of lift my leg in and out of it, coz the dressing and stuff has to be changed. So it’s hard underneath but soft on the top."

Detailing the accident last week, she said: "I walked around it [the assault course] and then crawled across like an old person, like across the difficult bits.

"And then there were these three inflatable stepping stones in the middle of the sea and everyone else was running across it.

“I thought ‘oh I could do that, if kids can do it I can do it’ and I did it and I made it.

"Then my leg slipped cos obviously it’s wet, like an inflatable thing in the sea, my leg slipped and it went the other way and I felt it break and I fell into the sea and I had to swim back to the shore one legged."

Holden required surgery and spent the remainder of the holiday on (sun)bed rest.
