Reports suggest that Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden could be on the verge of quitting to set up in the USA. The judge joined the popular ITV talent show when it all started back in 2007 - and since then has become a household name.
The show returned on Saturday night and already hit the headlines. Fans complained that the Golden Buzzer twist had been ruined - spotting golden confetti on the floor when Malakai Bayoh, 13, performed.
A fan moaned: “Ah so #BritainsGotTalent now re-shoots their Golden Buzzer moments for best camera results but are lazy enough to let it slip on TV.” A second agreed, writing: “Looks like golden confetti on the floor, before Simon hits his buzzer.”

Now according to reports Amanda Holden is looking to jump ship from the UK. The Sun reported that she has putting her house in London up on the market and spending two weeks with producers in Los Angeles.
Her model daughter reportedly has investigated three different universities in the US, at LA, Boston and New York. The Sun reports that a source said: “Amanda is seriously contemplating a move to the States. It feels like the time is now. She spent the school hols in LA with the whole family, and had a wonderful time.
“She’s been hanging out with Simon and his fiancée, Lauren, who have been encouraging her to make the move, and enjoy the sunshine and blue skies permanently. She even visited the set of America’s Got Talent, and sat alongside judges Heidi Klum and Sofia Vergara. The producers absolutely loved her.”
Amanda Holden at the weekend shared a picture from behind the scenes at the filming of Britain’s Got Talent to thank fans for tuning into the premier weekend of the series. Taking to Instagram, the judge on the ITV talent show wrote: “Thank you for making us the most watched show of the year so far @Bgt @itv back next weekend!”
The return of Britain’s Got Talent has drawn around half a million fewer viewers than last year, when the show came back on air for the first time since the pandemic. ITV said the first episode of the 16th series had an average of 5.5 million viewers based on overnight figures.
The peak viewing figure of the premiere of the talent show on Saturday at 8pm was 6.2 million viewers. The broadcaster said it was ITV1’s highest rated programme of the year based on overnight figures.
