Amanda Holden is Heart Breakfast's new host and she is ‘thrilled’ about the new role

Amanda Holden is “looking forward to waking up” the nation after confirming her new role as host of the Heart Breakfast show.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge will join Jamie Theakston for the new nation-wide show which kicks off on June 3.

Speaking at the launch of the new show, Holden said: “I’m thrilled to be hosting the brand-new national Heart Breakfast Show from June 3 with the fab Jamie Theakston.

“Having listened for years I’m excited to be part of the Heart team and working on what will now be the UK’s biggest commercial morning radio show!

“I’m not sure my face is ready for the early starts mind you, but I’m looking forward to waking you all up!”

Theakston proved he is equally as excited and said his new co-host will bring the “unexpected” to the role.

He said: “This is a massively exciting opportunity in taking this show nationwide and I’m beyond thrilled to have my friend Amanda join me in the fun.

The announcement comes amid a busy month for the star after she filled in for This Morning host Holly Willoughby on Celebrity Juice.

Holden bowled fans over with a string of bold looks on the show, including a black-widow inspired leather suit and red mini dress for an Avengers special.

Last year Emma Bunton bid goodbye to her role on the Heart Breakfast show after five years of co-hosting with Theakston in a bid to concentrate on her family and the upcoming Spice Girls tour.

Baby Spice, who initially joined the show in 2009, announced the news with a “heavy heart” but vowed to regularly call in with the latest Spice Girls updates.

Heat Breakfast is on weekdays from 6:30am
