Amanda Holden 'hopeful' Britain's Got Talent live finals will go ahead

Amanda Holden is hopeful that the Britain's Got Talent live finals will go ahead in autumn.

The 49-year-old BGT judge was joined on Heart Radio by singer Fayth Ifil, 12, who had stunned the judges in the auditions.

In the latest BGT episode, the youngster - who performed an incredible rendition of Tina Turner's Proud Mary - even won Simon's golden buzzer.

Speaking on the morning radio show, Amanda spoke to Fayth about the live finals - that have been postponed to later this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

"Hopefully all this will be behind us, but I think we'll all remember how we felt during this time," Amanda said during the conversation.

She added: "You would imagine by then everything will be alright."

During her chat with Amanda and Jamie, Fayth said that she hoped to inspire viewers and perform a song in the live semi-finals that delivers a powerful message.

Amanda loved the idea of hearing a song that would uplift viewers.

"I think she has the right idea, some sort of anthem song that the whole nation can get behind and feel uplifted."

During her conversation with Jamie and Amanda, the songstress also explained that she was "quite shocked" at seeing herself on TV.

After the show she was inundated with messages and received thousands of followers on social media.

Fayth was told by the judges that she was 'born to be a superstar' after she captured the hearts of the nation with her powerful vocals on Saturday.

"It was like Tina Turner had just come back!" Simon had explained about her performance.

ITV is yet to confirm when the live finals will go ahead because of the ongoing pandemic.
