Amanda Holden 'floored' by husband Chris' response to single about 'born sleeping' baby boy

Amanda Holden has revealed it was her husband's reaction to the song With You which pushed her to release it as a single for their stillborn son, Theo.

Ahead of its release, Amanda revealed she wanted to "let fans in" with the song while Chris' reaction left her "floored".

The popular Britain's Got Talent judge shared the song has a special meaning for her and her husband, Chris Hughes, as it reminds them both of the son they lost nine years ago.

Amanda gave birth to her second child two months prematurely after being told there was no heartbeat.

Son Theo Hughes was stillborn on February 1, 2011.

Amanda opened up about the tragedy in the BBC's Dear NHS Superstars special, where she said she "heard this guttural screaming" after learning her baby had no heartbeat.

She said: "It was the most bizarre thing that's ever happened to me because it was me.

"I didn't know I was doing it - I had no control over myself, I thought it was another person making the noise."

Amanda has said her baby’s tragic death changed her as a person forever, and made her realise first-hand just how fragile life can be reports The Mirror.

The devoted wife also paid tribute to her beloved husband Chris for staying strong when she "fell apart" after suffering the colossal loss.

Lifting the lid on the meaning behind the precious song, Amanda told Mail Online : “The last lines of this song are, 'You took my life with you, took my world with you' and so this is for Theo, our baby who was born sleeping and for Chris who stayed strong when I fell apart.

“It was Chris who told me he always thought of Theo when he heard this song which floored me so it's also his song for Theo.”

In 2011, Amanda was seven months pregnant with son Theo when a scan revealed his heart had stopped. The talent show judge later underwent a Caesarean to deliver her "sleeping baby".

When speaking on the poignant BBC One show Dear NHS Superhero's earlier this year, she said: “I held him in my arms for the first time and that is when I realised that I was still a mummy even though he was fast asleep.”

She described her baby as having perfectly formed eyebrows "like all of her children".

"The thing that I always remember most about him was his perfectly formed eyebrows. My husband says our children inherited them from him," she laughed.

The TV star insisted she could not have got through the devastating ordeal if it wasn't for the help of the incredible NHS staff.
