Amanda Holden comes face-to-face with first boyfriend live on air: 'My tummy is turning!'

Amanda Holden came face-to-face with her “handsome” first boyfriend live on Heart Breakfast, 30 years after they met.

Holden, 48, had enjoyed a slow dance with Clifford Colver, aged nine, before he “got off with someone else” and they “drifted apart”.

But her co-host Jamie Theakston tracked down him down after a listener claimed she had also dated him.

“Lovely Clifford Colver,” Holden said. “When I was nine I danced with him in Bishop's Waltham Church Hall.”

Shock: Amanda Holden said the news left her 'tummy turning' (Heart Breakfast)

But she was soon left with her “tummy turning over” after Theakston revealed he had found a mobile number, before proceeding to contact Clifford on FaceTime.

“You kind of look like Tom Hanks in Castaway – in a good way,” Holden said as she came face-to-face with her ex.

Clifford said he had “all good” memories of dating Holden before the pair reminisced about one of their dates at an ice rink in Southhampton. Holden also revealed she still owns a recorder engraved with her name that Clifford had gifted her after a trip to Romania.

Asked if he has followed Holden’s career, he replied, “Of course, naturally,” before adding that it has been “a bit surreal sometimes”.

Holden then attempted to set up the Surfers Against Sewage volunteer with her sister Debbie, telling listeners: “Damn he looks good. We could have set him up. My sister is single and in a field in Glastonbury.”

But despite Clifford insisting it could be “a little bit weird” he also revealed he is in a “very happy relationship”.

Holden later revealed Clifford “got off with someone else,” telling Theakston: “I think he forgot about me, we changed classes, we just drifted. But then it was all about Matthew Bishop after that.”

Tune in to the all new Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, weekdays from 06:30 – 10:00 across the UK
