Amanda Holden claims I Can See Your Voice is 'much needed' TV as viewers divided

Amanda Holden has claimed we all 'really need' new BBC show I Can See Your Voice as its debut caused a real stir on Saturday night.

After proving successful over the other side of the Atlantic, UK viewers got their first look at the rather unique guessing game this weekend, which involves a celebrity panel helping members of the public to work out who is an actual singer and who isn't from an array of disguised performers.

Amanda joined Alison Hammond, Jimmy Carr and Danny Jones for Saturday's first episode which saw Paddy McGuinness at the helm as the panel and fans at home were treated to interesting covers of the likes of Blackbox's Ride on Time, Somewhere from West Side Story and Imagine Dragons' Believer as the team went home with a big cash prize.

I Can See Your Voice left some viewers lost for words as they struggled to get their heads round what they were watching but Amanda, better known for being over on ITV as a judge on Britain's Got Talent, says its the show we could all do with after a tough year.

Posting about it on Instagram, she wrote: "I Can See Your Voice 7:20pm BBC One. It’s the feel-good show we really need right now. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did filming it"

Unfortunately, there were plenty of viewers who didn't share in Amanda's sentiments after watching the first episode.

One took to Twitter to blast: "What a crock of s***e I Can See Your Voice is! Honestly the BBC love to spew out any old c**p nowadays,."

Another reacted: "Dear BBC, What is I can see your voice and why am i paying a license for you to produce this shite," but others were on board with it from the get-go, with another tweeting: "I Can See Your Voice’ what a format."

Equally hooked, another posted: "I Can See Your Voice is appallingly brilliant. It’s dreadful and I could not love it more."
