Amanda Holden becomes a doctor as she tells people to pursue their dreams

Amanda Holden has officially become a doctor.

The Britain's Got Talent judge was handed an Honorary Doctorate of Letters from her old drama school.

After the prestigious ceremony at Mountview Drama School, Amanda wasted no time in updating her Instagram to let everyone know she's a doctor now.

Posing up with her degree in her orange and blue silk robes and black academic cap, Amanda encouraged people to chase their dreams.

She said: "Remember, always, always pursue your dreams. You and your fellow @mountviewldn students are coming from the best possible place to do that, especially with the incredible new building in #Peckham that I visited this month.

"I have such fond memories of my time at Mountview, they really gave me the tools to do absolutely anything I wanted and I’ve never looked back. 27 years ago A degree after my three years didn’t exist.

"I’m delighted times have moved on ... and The Arts ( Drama) gets the acknowledgement it deserves- so go out there and show the world what you’ve got"

Amanda's followers rushed to congratulate her on her big achievement.

One said: "You graduated as a doctor ? WELL DONEE!!!"

Another told her: "Spoken like an angel"

While another said: "so deserved!!"

Amanda graduated from the drama school back in 1992 and was thrilled to be asked back and awarded the huge honour.

The star also shared a boomerang video of herself and other students celebrating by throwing their caps in the air.

She said: "Today I had the great privilege of being awarded an honorary degree -Doctor of Letters from my incredible drama school @mountviewldn where I graduated in 1992.. thrilled to have shared the day with these talented students Dr Mandy Holden will see you now"

Amanda has recently been recovering breaking her leg while on holiday.
