Amanda Holden backs 'Team Walliams' after Britain's Got Talent host allegedly quits over leaked remarks

Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden has spoke up about how she is 'Team David' and would love to see the show's judging panel return to 'how it looked before' - after rumours emerged that co-judge David Walliams quit the ITV staple.

Speaking at the official 2022 Variety Club Showbusiness Awards ceremony, the 51-year-old, said: "I would like to see the judging panel look how it looked before. I think we're all a great team, we're a family," before going on to wholeheartedly say 'Of course I'm Team David."

Amanda showed her support for David, after his disgusting comments from a show at the London Palladium were leaked - revealing that he had called an elderly contestant the C-word on three occasions.

The Daily Star reports that speaking about another female contestant, the transcript of the audio leaked to the Guardian alleges that David was heard saying: "She’s like the slightly boring girl you meet in the pub that thinks you want to f*** them, but you don’t."

The slurs were reportedly picked up by an on-set microphone which was used to record chats between the Little Britain star, Amanda, Simon Cowell and Alesha Dixon from the show in 2020. David has since released an apologetic statement to the remarks, expressing severe regret for the comments.

"I'd like to apologise to the people I made disrespectful comments about during breaks in filming for Britain’s Got Talent in 2020," he said, before the statement continued: "These were private conversations and – like most conversations with friends – were never intended to be shared. Nevertheless, I am sorry."

Fellow judge, Simon, took an admittedly political stance with regards to the situation, avoiding questions revolving around it until now. He said: "I think for me, the most important thing – and I had this conversation the other day. It’s always about the talent.

"If you don’t have great talent, you don’t have a show, that's all I care about."
