Amanda Holden hailed 'best dressed at Royal Ascot' as she stuns in purple dress

Showbiz pals Amanda Holden and Alan Carr have posed for a selfie together as they attended the Ascot Races.

The Britain's Got Talent judge and the comedian have been firm friends for many years, and even partnered together for a BBC series which saw them renovate Italian properties together.

Amanda beamed for the camera in a head to toe purple outfit as she raised a glass of champagne in toast at the horse racing event. Stood alongside her, Alan complemented her violet outfit with a pale lavender shirt and grey suit as he posed for the cheeky snap at the races.

Captioning the snap for her two million Instagram followers, Amanda joked: "@chattyman with his favourite Nag."

Followers and fans of the pair have been quick to congratulate them on their stylish outfits, as one wrote: " Love you guys. Have fun xx."

Another added: "My faves."

"Both looking good," commented a third.

Another added: "Always so elegant and wonderful."

Longstanding pals Amanda and Alan paired up for BBC show The Italian Job earlier this year, which saw them buy two adjacent properties for €1 (86p) each and help transform them into one stylish home.

The eight part series was full of hilarious moments as Amanda and Alan had to learn how to do up the properties, which were in total disrepair.

Their efforts weren't in vain, as their property Casa Alamanda went on the market earlier this year with an asking price of €145,000 (£127,500) – and it's now been sold for close to that price with £127,000 going to charity as a result.A BBC spokesman said of the fully furnished two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment: "The sale is in progress. Proceeds will be donated to Children in Need and Comic Relief."

As the series aired in January, 56-year-old Amanda spoke about why she wanted to venture into property alongside her comic pal: "Alan and I came up with the idea for the show together and approached the BBC, as we knew it was the perfect home.

"We are both very passionate about interior design... and injected some much-needed life into an area in need of some Holden and Carr magic."
