Amanda Bynes 'split from partner' just weeks before she was placed on a psychiatric hold

Amanda Bynes reportedly broke up with her boyfriend Paul Michael just two weeks before she suffered a mental health crisis which led to her being placed under a psychiatric hold.

Paul has claimed the pair argued before Amanda was admitted to a psychiatric care facility after she was found wandering the streets naked and alone. The actress was seen walking near downtown Los Angeles late last month.

She reportedly flagged down a passing car and told the driver that she was "coming down from a psychotic episode", before calling 911 for herself.

Amanda has since been released from the treatment facility, according to a source close to the star.

Prior to her mental health struggles, Paul has alleged Amanda "disappeared for three days" before she "came home with another guy".

Speaking to TMZ, he claimed Amanda said she "didn't care" about him anymore and they ended their relationship.

He said he then gathered his things together and left their home.

The Mirror has approached Amanda's representatives for comment.

Amanda and Paul are said to have first met at Alcoholics Anonymous in November 2019.

They became engaged on Valentine's Day in 2020, however, they decided to end their engagement a year later. Despite ending their engagement, they remained a couple.

Sources close to Amanda have said she was released from a Southern Californian treatment facility on Monday.

The insider told the publication both Amanda and the medical staff are happy that she is "ready to get back to her day-to-day life".

The actress will now start outpatient treatment and will work with doctors and specialists to get the help she needs going forward.

Amanda will live in her own home and keep much of the independence she gained after her nine-year conservatorship came to an end, the source claimed.

It has been reported that her parents are not looking to put her under another conservatorship following her release.

Amanda had previously been under a conservatorship since 2013. It was ended last year so she could have the freedom to make her own decisions.
