Amad taunts Man Utd teammates after training with timely reminder to Ralf Rangnick

Amad has become the latest Manchester United player to stake a claim under new interim Ralf Rangnick on the training ground.

After Diogo Dalot and Alex Telles' impressive performances since the acclaimed German coach took over, the 19-year-old is looking to follow in their footsteps by breaking into the starting XI after largely being on the peripheries under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

And Diallo, whose sole appearance under his new boss came in a Champions League dead rubber against Young Boys, did so by taunting his Red Devils teammates, having once again been part the winning team in training on Wednesday.

In a cheeky Instagram story post, the Ivory Coast international highlighted himself being on the victorious side on four separate occasions and wrote: "I don't know how to lose."

The winger's jibe comes as United returned to training this week following a Covid-19 outbreak, which saw their last two Premier League matches postponed.

Now, Rangnick's men face a packed fixture schedule and Amad, signed from Atalanta for £18.7million in the summer of 2020, could well be handed valuable game time after injury forced him to miss out on a loan move to Dutch outfit Feyenoord in August.

Many have speculated that the Ivorian could once again be set for a temporary move away but his success on the training ground should stand him in good stead to stick around at Old Trafford and contribute in 2022.

In fact, Rangnick's recent controversial comments about the hectic nature of the English football calendar over the festive period may well hint that plenty of rotation in the Red Devils' squad.

On Thursday, the United boss said: "England is the only country in the top five leagues that plays two cup competitions. Even France, I think they abolished the second one a year or two ago.

"Currently we are the only country that play two cup competitions; this is something maybe we could once again speak about or discuss.

"I know the reason for that, the Carabao Cup has been still kept for the third and fourth division teams especially, to help improve the financial situation of those clubs but I still think, if we speak about a tight calendar and playing too many games, this could be something where we could speak and discuss.

"The other issue, I think it has been changed now in the last two weeks, is that in the FA Cup after a draw that you have to have a replay, after a draw.

"This has been changed now. I think this is also a good idea. In other countries in cup competitions, you play extra-time and penalties so you never have that replay situations. So those might be issues and topics you could speak about."
