Amad reveals Axel Tuanzebe's nickname at Manchester United

Amad has revealed Axel Tuanzebe's nickname at Manchester United following his return to the first team.

The Englishman started his first match since January on Thursday night and impressed as United beat Granada 2-0 in the Europa League quarter-final.

With United comfortable and in control of the tie after a first-leg victory, Tuanzebe partnered Victor Lindelof in defence, with Harry Maguire given a rare night off due to suspension as United progressed to the semi-finals, where they will take on Villarreal.

It was a comfortable evening for Tuanzebe and the United defence, who didn't have get out of second gear to keep a second-consecutive clean sheet against their La Liga counterparts.

Tuanzebe provided a timely reminder of his qualities, with United facing a tough decision over the future of Eric Bailly. The Ivory Coast defender is out of contract in 2022 and this summer could represent their last opportunity to recoup a fee.

MEN Sport understands United are also keen to bring in a new centre-back, with Pau Torres and Raphael Varane of particular interest. That would force Bailly and Tuanzebe further down the pecking order.

The 23-year-old is well thought of around the United camp, though, both by staff and his teammates. This was further highlighted when Amad revealed Tuanzebe's nickname on social media.

Under a photo posted by the defender, Amad wrote: "SERGIO AXEL RAMOS". The comment has been liked by over 2700 people at the time of writing.

Tuanzebe has only started one Premier League match this season, which came in a 2-1 home defeat to Sheffield United at the start of 2021. His best performance, arguably, in a United shirt came against Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the season, up against two of the world's best forwards, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
