Amad, Hannibal, Alvaro Fernandez - latest Manchester United loanee round-up including match-winning goal

Manchester United secured a comfortable victory over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at the weekend to strengthen their grip on a top-four finish.

The Reds, who were without a host of players through injury, won 2-0 at the City Ground thanks to goals from Antony and Diogo Dalot. The Brazilian winger opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, before full-back Dalot put the game to bed in the 76th minute.

Erik ten Hag's side currently sit third in the top-flight table - three points clear of Newcastle in fourth. United - who lifted the Carabao Cup trophy in February - also remain in the hunt for Europa League and FA Cup glory this term.

It was a good weekend for United's loan players, too. Several of the club's loanees enjoyed productive weekends - with Amad, Alvaro Fernandez and Charlie McNeill among those in action. Here's how the club's loanees got on over the past few days...

Amad and Hannibal

Amad scored the winning goal for Sunderland as the Black Cats came from a goal down to secure an important 2-1 victory over Birmingham City at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

It was Amad who proved to be the difference maker as the Ivory Coast international stroked his winner into the bottom corner in the 75th minute. He has scored 12 goals for Sunderland this season.

Meanwhile, fellow United loanee Hannibal also featured, coming on in the 72nd minute for the Blues.

Alvaro Fernandez

The Spanish full-back came off the bench in the 67th minute as Preston North End lost 2-0 away at Millwall at the weekend. Fernandez has registered six assists in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Championship side this season.

Maximilian Oyedele and Joe Hugill

United youngster Maximilian Oyedele scored for Altrincham as the Robins lost 3-2 away at Dorking Wanderers in their National League clash. He has bagged four times since arriving at the J Davidson Stadium.

Joe Hugill, meanwhile, also started for Altrincham and played for 66 minutes before being substituted.

Charlie McNeill

Charlie McNeill started for Newport County as they secured a 2-0 home win over Hartlepool in League Two. The attacker, who scored his first senior goal against Tranmere Rovers last month, is aiming to help Graham Coughlan's side move further clear of the drop zone.

Ethan Laird

Queens Park Rangers continued their dreadful run in the Championship as they fell to a 3-0 loss at home to Coventry on Saturday afternoon. Reds loanee Ethan Laird came on as a second-half substitute for QPR, but he was unable to have the desired impact as Gareth Ainsworth's men conceded twice late on.

Laird has made 30 appearances in all competitions this term, registering one goal and two assists.

Shola Shoretire, Charlie Savage and Di'shon Bernard

Shola Shoretire came on in the 79th minute as Bolton Wanderers defeated Oxford United 1-0. The 19-year-old is yet to score for the League One side, but he has registered two assists. Meanwhile, Charlie Savage played 58 minutes of Forest Green Rovers' 5-1 home loss to Barnsley. The defeat saw Duncan Ferguson's men relegated to League Two.

Elsewhere, Di'shon Bernard came on in the final few minutes for Portsmouth as they drew 1-1 at Shrewsbury.

Matej Kovar

The goalkeeper was involved in an entertaining clash at the weekend, with Sparta Prague drawing 3-3 with Slavia Prague in the Czech First League. Kovar will be disappointed to have conceded three goals, but his side remain in a good position in the league table.

Sparta currently sit at the top of the table - two points clear with three games to go. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has featured on 23 occasions this term.

Will Fish and Eric Bailly

Will Fish completed the full 90 minutes as Hibernian secured a 1-0 win over Hearts. The young defender has been a regular in recent months after a slow start to his loan spell.

Fellow defender Eric Bailly, meanwhile, came off the bench in Marseille's 3-1 victory over Troyes.
