'Am I seeing things?' - Spurs fans notice two former players in attendance against Ajax

There were two former players in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Spurs' Champions League semi-final first leg against Ajax on Tuesday night, and eagle eyed fans were quick to spot them.

Both Tom Carroll and Andros Townsend were spotted sitting up in the stand alongside injured Harry Kane. All three came through the academy at Enfield.

It is hoped that striker Kane will be available for the second leg of the semi-final, after recovering from ankle ligament damage. The England captain has missed the last four Premier League matches, as well as the second leg of the quarter final against Manchester City. If he is able to make his return, he will be hoping to add to his five Champions League goals this season to fire Tottenham into the final of the competition.

Carroll now plays his football in Wales, having returned from a loan spell at Aston Villa, although, like Kane he is currently out injured with a hip problem. The 26-year-old scored three goals and contributed five assists in 56 appearances for Spurs between 2014 and 2017.

Andros Townsend is now at Crystal Palace, having made just short of 100 first team appearances during his time at White Hart Lane. The winger scored 11 times in 93 appearances for the Lillywhites.

Here are some fans who noticed the two academy graduates alongside the star striker.
