Alyssa Farah Griffin Presses White House To Match Words With Action On Epstein Files

(The View)

Alyssa Farah Griffin is urging the White House and the Trump administration to follow through on their public claims about transparency and release all remaining materials tied to the Jeffrey Epstein case. Speaking on Thursday’s episode of The View, the former White House communications aide said the administration’s behavior is raising more questions than it answers.

Her remarks came after House Democrats released thousands of emails and documents from Epstein’s estate. The White House dismissed the release as a Democrat “hoax,” but it was later reported that top officials held a Situation Room meeting with Colorado State Rep. Lauren Boebert, one of four Republicans who continue to support releasing the full Epstein files. Griffin said the private meeting in the nation’s most secure facility only undermines the administration’s messaging, as per Decider.

“One thing that stood out to me is how the White House has handled this Epstein saga from day one,” she said. “If you’re somebody who is skeptical of Donald Trump’s involvement, you think he was in some way aligned with him, they’re denying that he is, so their action should match that. And it feels like every action he takes makes them look more guilty.”

She added that gathering lawmakers in the Situation Room for political concerns is “unheard of,” saying she only entered the room for national security matters or the COVID response during her time in government.

Griffin then praised the four House Republicans who continue to push for full release of the files: Thomas Massie, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Nancy Mace. She noted that despite immense pressure to withdraw their signatures from the discharge petition, each has remained firm.

She also predicted that many more Republicans will ultimately support the release if the issue reaches the House floor.

“I actually believe that when this comes to the floor for a vote, more Republicans will ultimately vote for it because this is going to follow them in the midterms and it’s going to follow their conscience,” she said. “This might not impugn Donald Trump; it very well may not, but this is about right and wrong for the victims and for the women. If there’s nothing to hide, release it all. Max transparency, as the White House said. Now’s the time to put your money where your mouth is.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin addressed the content of the newly released documents, pointing to one email in which Epstein wrote that Trump asked Ghislaine Maxwell “to stop.” Hostin said the detail could help Trump, but questioned why the White House keeps denying any involvement.

“That is actually something that is helpful to him,” she said. “Arguably, this could be helpful to him, so why continue to deny it? That’s the problem I’m having here.” The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
