The winner of The Voice Australia’s 14th season has been revealed after a nail-biting and historic all-female finale that aired last night.

Coming out on top this year, based on Australians’ votes, was 19-year-old Alyssa Delpopolo, who got in over the line with a finale performance of “It’s All Coming Back To Me Now” by Céline Dion, nabbing herself a pretty $100,000 cash prize in the process.

Delpopolo, who was a teammate of The Voice coach Kate Miller-Heidke, told host Sonia Kruger that her win “doesn’t feel real at all” while holding back tears. The Aussie pop star told Delpopolo that “Australia loves you as much as I do, and I’m so thrilled”.

It capped off a thrilling finale that saw Delpopolo compete against fellow finalists Cassie Henderson (from Team Mel C), Cle Morgan (from Team Ronan Keating) and Bella Parnell, who represented Team Richard Marx.

Each of the final four performed two songs throughout the finale, one as a duet with their coach and another solo rendition of their chosen tracks. Alongside the Dion song, Delpopolo took to the stage for a rendition of Selena Gomez’s “Lose You To Love Me” with Miller-Heidke by her side.

Alongside the cash prize, Delpopolo also won an all-inclusive recording development package including production, recording and mastering, and access to Australia’s leading and label services.

While the finale was thrilling in itself, season 14 of The Voice was defined by its own fair share of off-screen antics.

In August, it was reported that there was beef between Marx and Miller-Heidke, with an insider telling PEDESTRIAN.TV the following month that former coach Guy Sebastian quit the show over his own feud with the Aussie songstress

Sebastian later debunked the rumours, telling P.TV he had “nothing but love for Kate” and left the show to focus on his new album and tour.

We were swept up again in the BTS tea in September, when reports about the coaches’ eye-watering salaries emerged.

But all the drama wasn’t enough to outshine Delpopolo, who I hope is resting her vocal chords and enjoying a well-earned celebratory champs!
