'Always a bevvy if I'm on the karaoke' - Steven Gerrard opens up to Jamie Carragher and makes claim over Liverpool, Glasgow and Birmingham accents

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is back in the Premier League as he takes charge of Aston Villa.

The former Reds captain has made a fine start to life in the Premier League following his move back across the border following his successful period at Rangers.

Villa have won two of the three matches Gerrard has been in charge as he tasted defeat for the first time when taking on Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Gerrard’s former teammate Jamie Carragher interviewed his great friend for Sky Sports and the pundit posted some behind the scenes on his Instagram account .

When asked what his favourite karaoke song is, Gerrard replied: “Labi Siffre - Something Inside So Strong, you’ll have to wait for the chorus to get lively though because it's a bit slow at the beginning.

“Always a bevvie if I'm going on the karaoke, James, you know that.”

When asked whether the Brummie or Glaswegian accent was easier to understand, Gerrard replied: “The Brummie accent. People in Glasgow speak faster than us Scousers.

“I worked up there for three and a half years and still can’t understand some of the stuff people said, which is probably a good thing!”

Gerrard’s Villa host his former boss Brendan Rodgers on Sunday evening.
