ALWAR: Showing a sensitive approach in a case of rape of girl by their stepfather, the Alwar police on Tuesday filed a chargesheet against the accused just in three days after filing the FIR. The girls are living in an orphanage since their mother was also conniving with her husband in the rape case.
According to police, the two sisters aged 12 and 13 have been living in children home for past one year. “They had initially told about the rape to the authorities of the children home and later through the state legal services authority, I came to know about the incident on July 23 when the FIR was lodged. An FIR was lodged within 24 hours of accused’s arrest. Now, we have filed the chargesheet on Tuesday on the third day since the accused was arrested,” said Tejaswini Gautam, superintendent of police, Alwar.
She added that police will also take up the case in case officers scheme and will pursue the case for the faster conviction. “An officer would be designated for the task of the day-today hearings of the case and we are now aiming at faster conviction in the case.”
Police added that the father of the girls had died of cancer some years ago. Their mother started living with the man and he raped 13-year-old girl some years ago. Later, he was attempting to rape another girl.
“During my stint as Churu SP, we had filed chargesheet against a rape accused of a four-year-old girl,” she said.
