JAIPUR: A day after the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested an IAS officer and former district collector of Alwar, Nanu Mal Pahadia, RAS officer Ashok Sankhla and a middleman Nitin Sharma, all three were sent to judicial custody on Sunday.

ACB produced the accused before a court which sent them to judicial custody for 14 days. ACB officials said that they had arrested the trio after a complaint was received that the accused were allegedly nabbed for taking a bribe of Rs 5 lakh. They had also allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 16 lakh as a monthly bond for running a civil construction firm’s operations smoothly.

Pahadia, Sankhla and Sharma were arrested for their alleged involvement in the bribe case. The ACB sources said that Pahadia claimed he was anticipating that the bureau might be tracking him. tnn
