Alvin Kamara sprints 40 yards for a TD, gives the Saints the lead over Titans

It’s been some time since Alvin Kamara last hit paydirt for the New Orleans Saints, but he’s making up for it quickly against the Tennessee Titans. Kamara found a seam and ran 40 yards upfield for a Saints touchdown, giving his team a 17-14 lead early in the second half.

This was exactly the sort of jolt the Saints needed coming out of halftime, following an earlier 61-yard scoring pass to tight end Jared Cook from quarterback Drew Brees. Kamara played a role in that big play as well, having thrown a key block to spring Cook loose down the sideline.

These sort of plays are exactly what the Saints need to compliment the casual excellence of wide receiver Michael Thomas, who is closing in on Marvin Harrison’s NFL record for receptions in a single season. The Titans are committing a ton of resources to slowing Thomas down — up to and including triple coverage on third down — so the Saints need other weapons like Cook and Kamara to make a difference. And they’re doing their part.
