Alvaro Morata, Mason Mount and the best performers from Chelsea's 42-man Loan Army

The 2018/19 season is drawing to a close which means that Chelsea's Loan Army will soon be returning to Cobham in their droves as their time with their loan clubs end.

For some it has been an extremely positive and fulfilling experience, while others will be eager to return to Chelsea and put their spells behind them.

Others won't return, with the likes of Alvaro Morata set to stay at their clubs past the summer.

As we do every week, we've taken a look at the best performers from Chelsea's Loan Army from the past week.

Alvaro Morata

Morata is loving his time in Spain and had now taken his Atletico Madrid goal tally past his Chelsea one for the season.

A goal in midweek against Valencia took his tally to six for the season for his loan club, surpassing the five he managed to bag in England for the Blues this campaign.

There wasn't a goal to add to his tally at the weekend as Atletico beat Valladolid 1-0 but his move to the red and white side of Madrid certainly seems to be working out for the best.

Mason Mount

Mount was in action for Derby County once more as they continue to chase a play off spot in the Championship.

A 2-0 victory over ten-man Bristol City means they're in sixth place, level on points with Middlesbrough with just two games remaining in the competition.

He set up Jayden Bogle's goal in the 77th minute to make sure Frank Lampard's side came away from a tough tie at Ashton Gate with all three points to keep them in the driving seat for the play-offs.

Kenneth Omeruo

Omeruo seems set to stay at Leganes next season and the La Liga side will be delighted if that is the case after he put in another man of the match performance.

His side drew 0-0 with Celta Vigo at the weekend and made a superb goal line clearance to grab his side a vital point as they chase La Liga safety.

Victorien Angban

While not a name that will necessarily be one that is familiar to Chelsea fans, Angban features this week because it looks like his promotion with Metz means he will be leaving Chelsea.

Metz had a clause that if they were promoted to Ligue Un they would have to buy Angban permanently, and a 2-1 victory over Red Star secured that promotion for them.

It's most likely the first of a few faces that will leave Stamford Bridge from the Loan Army this season.
