Alton Towers water park set to be overrun by nudists for a 'weekend of fun'

More than 400 nudists are going to descend on Alton Towers' water park for a "weekend of fun".

The special event, which in 2020 will be in his 14th year, sees the theme park close to the general public so the hardy nudists can get together at Splash Landings.

And children, including babies and toddlers, are welcome.

British Naturism (BN) Events has organised the meeting, which Stoke-on-Trent Live says will take place over the weekend of November 20 to 22.

"Join over 400 BN members as we take over Splash Landings Hotel and Waterpark for a social and entertainment packed weekend of fun," a post on the British Naturism Events website reads today.

"If you have never experienced a BN Alton Towers weekend then where have you been!

"There are loads of daytime activities and excellent evening entertainment all included in the price including entry to one of the biggest and best water parks in the UK - Cariba Creek.

"As at all our BN events nudity is permitted 24/7 giving you two nights of clothes freedom."

The cost of the weekend - for a large family room for four people - is £365, with the cost of extra guests being £115 each, under 18s are £55 and under threes are free.

Included in the cost is two nights accommodation, an unlimited buffet breakfast and entry to the water park.

The price also includes nightly entertainment, daytime activities and a welcome drink from the bar.

But when nearby Waterworld in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, held a "nude family swim day" in April, paedophile hunters protested in disgust.

John Lawrence travelled from Oldham, Greater Manchester, to share his concerns.

The 51-year-old man said: "This shouldn’t go on. It’s children, our children, and we don’t want to expose them to this.

"We don’t know what background checks are being done to check the sex offenders' register, and I don’t see how they can check their history."
