Alton Towers needs 30 people to play zombies, ghosts and clowns at Scarefest 2021

The UK's biggest theme park is looking for 30 actors for their annual Scarefest.

Roles include zombies, ghosts, and chainsaw-wielding clowns.

It's understood 400 people have applied already applied to take part, and now the park is looking to fill the final specialist roles in its scare team, StokeonTrentLive reports.

Kieran Kimberley, entertainments creative manager for Alton Towers Resort, said: "Scarefest is a very exciting time of the year for us here at the resort.

"Each year, we look for new ways to spark fear and create first-class immersive experiences for our guests, which has led us to be renowned for being the most popular destination in the UK for a seasonal scare.

"This year our Halloween celebrations will be bigger and better than ever – we’ve got an incredible line-up of live entertainment and never-ending spooktacular fun, which we’re sure both our actors and guests will love."

Scarefest will take place at Alton Towers Resort from October 8 to October 10, then each day from October 15 to October 31. It will feature four terrifying mazes and a brand-new attraction for thrillseekers and families called Trick O Treat Town.
